The project brief stressed the importance of giving the Salon event a unique visual identity while making its link to the TED brand instantly recognisable through the use of colour and typography. The resulting image had to be easyly adapted to different platforms to be used across all digital channels, as well as at the physical event in Piccadilly Theatre.

Following from the theme of Tales from the Unexpected, the image was inspired by the idea that books are doors into new worlds to be discovered.
